Last night I caught up with an old friend for dinner who was back in town after moving to Melbourne earlier in the year. We had no sooner sat down at my new local and ordered some olives, as we salivated over the mouth watering menu, when a waitress came up to me and said “excuse me, are you Sally Joseph?”…..feeling somewhat like a naughty child who was about to get in trouble for something, I sheepishly nodded my head in anticipation of why she wanted to know…Was it because we were late for our booking? Had I parked my car illegally, had some one found my car key that I had dropped in the sand early that morning, as I hauled my board to the ocean for a paddle?? No, it was none of the above, but rather she was eager to tell me that she had lost 27 kilo’s since following the eating program in my e-book Eat Yourself Healthy In 28 Days!
Admittedly it took my brain a second to register what she had just said, because it was the last thing I was expecting, but when it dawned on me, I found myself feeling so happy for her and grateful that she had taken the time to approach me to tell me of her success story.
You see, the problem with this online world, is so often I don’t get to personally hear people’s stories and witness their health transformations, like I did when I had physical contact with every patient who undertook my program, and I realised how much I miss that. The reason being – my motivation for becoming a practitioner in the beginning – I love to help people with their health, because I wish I had someone to help me when I was experiencing my own health battles. So to have someone I’d never met, come up to me in the flesh and introduce themselves and share their success story with me, was really touching, because it’s reassuring to know that my program is making a difference out there, no matter how big or how small. For ‘Susan’ (her name for the sake of this post), it was a whopping 27 kilo’s difference – WOW – well done Susan!! Living proof that if you arm yourself with the right KNOWLEDGE, then the next step to achieving your health goals is what I describe in my book – APPLICATION, CONSISTENCY, DETERMINATION & PATIENCE. And like Susan said, ‘your program is not a ‘diet’ it”s just a healthy way of eating each day’.
